...Jean Dubuffet will be one of the first ones to encourage him by introducing him in 1969 to Jean-François Jaeger, director of the Jeanne Bucher art gallery.
Thanks to the public and private commissions, monumental sculptures were set up in the Vincennes's Parc Floral, in the France Telecom (Orange) head office in Paris, in Ivry, Aubervilliers, Monaco-Fontvieille or in the Elysée Palace's gardens, the highlight being the Monument erected in tribute to Arthur Rimbaud in 1989 in Marseille.
Jean Amado also created sculptures destinated to private collections, museums and foundations. Moreover, many exhibitions and retrospectives made Amado known in France and abroad. Christian Bobin, Jean-Luc Daval, Georges Duby, Bernard Noël, Louis Pons, Dora Vallier, Germain Viatte, among others, talked about his work. After his death in 1995, a great retrospective was organized in 1997, followed by an important exhibition in 2008 in Aix-en-Provence.
In 2017 the Granet Museum in Aix-en-Provence exhibited his work, within the exhibition Jeanne Bucher, La Passion de l'Art.
